Sunday – Fasting
So today is going to be the hardest for most people. Its going to be a full day of fasting. This means you are going to have around 100 calories total. Now before you decide this is impossible. You’ll be too hangry, you get dizzy, you get tired, or whatever excuse you want there are a bunch of ways to help you complete this goal. Fasting has been noted to increase your life span. Plus it helps to build your will power, shrink your stomach, cleans you out, and is the best way to help you on weighing yourself every Monday morning to see your true gains. So to start lets go through things to help. Remember hunger is going to come in waves. For me its usually around 12pm, 4pm, 6pm, and 8pm. The next day normally you aren’t starving, but you need to be careful once you start eating to not binge. Its not going to be a walk in the park, but with a bunch of tricks you can easily get around the problem of hunger and make it to the next day. That next day weigh in is the best feeling because it will always be lower and you’ll feel great.
Multi Vitamins
You want to take half your pills when you wake up and the other half around 6pm. The reason is to help your body digest all the things you have had previously in the day and give you the extra vitamins to help you go.
Salt
The biggest reason people start getting dizzy is normally from dehydration, a lack of nutrients, or a lack of sodium. You can either put some in a cup of water with a little chicken broth, or just put a teaspoon on your tongue and swallow it. It sounds weird I know, but it helps so much in keeping you from being dizzy.
Coffee / Caffeine
I have multiple cups of coffee a day as its a great way to keep you warm (you get colder normally while fasting), keeps your body busy so you dont focus on the hunger, and the caffeine helps to keep you full/gives you energy.
Sugar Free Sports Drinks
This one is contested by people. Some people believe sugar free drinks like rockstar are terrible for you, while others think its just fine. I personally really enjoy having an orange rockstar with some ultima, and psyllium husk. The extra fiber keeps my stomach full, and it just tastes great.
Ultima Drink
This is my go to drink for the day. It is zero carbs, calories, and everything else. Just all the minerals your body needs and a great taste. The cherry pomegranate is my favorite flavor. Fill a tumbler bottle all the way up and put 2 scoops in there. Plus the minerals are huge in keeping your body from getting tired / dizzy. Also since it has salt in it, you can technically drink this all day and not need to do the salt trick to keep yourself from being dizzy.
Protein Shake
I said you are going to keep yourself around 100 calories. Normally mid day I will have one protein shake. Ill do a salted caramel, coffee, and some vanilla unsweetened almond milk. The big reason is my muscles are sore from the day before and I still want my gym gains without eating away at the muscle.
Water
This is a key thing. If you get hungry and do not have coffee or ultima around, then just keep drinking water. You will become so full with water that your hunger goes away.
Sleeping
Just don’t do it. You will get tired, you will want to nap, but you know what that means? You will be up later in the night, and that is the danger zone when you are bored, hungry, and at a high point to let your fasting slip and start binging.
